School Construction To Resume!

Fundraising Haiti School School Construction

Third Building Delayed Since March 2020

Current Status

The construction of our third classroom building was about 70% complete in March 2020 when construction was stopped due to COVID-19. Our volunteer skilled labor from the United States was suspended. We were not able to complete construction. The work that remains includes the concrete work to connect the building to an adjacent building, installation of access staircases, plumbing, electrical, finish carpentry and site drainage work.

Our contractor, Building Goodness Foundation, has not been able to resume construction with the volunteer team originally expected to travel to Haiti. However, they are negotiating an agreement with a local Haiti-based contractor to complete the construction. We are hopeful that construction will resume in April 2022 and be completed in this summer in time for the start of school in the fall.

Join The 2022 Construction Campaign

We are indeed excited about the prospect of construction being resumed and the completion of the classrooms. Given the lapse of time and the impact of inflation, it is expected that the cost to complete construction will exceed our original budget for the project. For this reason, we are undertaking a campaign to raise additional funds to assure the completion of the building and begin the work for the fourth classroom building to complete our school campus.

We stretch our hand to you and ask that you give as you are able. There are may ways you can help our campaign. Go to our website School Building Fund page or our General Donation page for options and select the method by which you wish to donate. You may donate online or by mail. Donations of securities are acceptable. No contributions are too small. All are very much needed and appreciated.
