Composing Your Legacy

Administration Enhanced Education Environment Fundraising

Center of Hope (Haiti), Inc. will celebrate its 17th Anniversary on March 31, 2021. Our mission is to foster livelihood and hope for the future of children living in extreme poverty in Hinche, Haiti by providing shelter, education, nutrition, emotional security, healthcare and life skills to the children.

To assure our children of a brighter future requires financial support from generous donors. COHH is a Connecticut non-profit corporation, an IRS 501(c)(3) tax exempt entity and an approved NGO in good standing in Haiti. COHH does not receive financial support from any government entity. Because we recognize that our mission will be ongoing well into the future, we are taking steps to provide for that future for our children by appealing to donors to include COHH in their estate planning.

Your legacy can be part of his legacy

Charitable Planning

Estate planning offers our donors the opportunity to make an enduring legacy. This act of kindness can leave an indelible mark on the children of Center of Hope (Haiti). Even a small asset can be turned into a gift that will provide support in perpetuity.

What Is Estate Planning?

Estate planning is the process of managing accumulated assets for the present and future. It is a written expression of your intentions for the protection and preservation of your assets during your lifetime and their management and distribution upon your death.

  • Organized approach for settling affairs
  • Prepare for possible future needs - health, accidents, unforeseen financial challenges
  • Provides for spouse, dependents and other loved ones
  • Reduce tax consequences on current assets and future estate taxes

Charitable Giving

There are many ways to give. Although the choices may seem overwhelming at first, they are simply different options designed to fit varying circumstances and individual goals. Only you will be able to determine how a charitable gift fits into your estate plan. For purposes of planning with charitable intentions, giving can be divided into two broad categories:

Restricted Gifts

With a restricted bequest, you name the specific causes you wish to support. This could be a special program of your church, Center of Hope (Haiti), Inc. or other entity. The form of the bequest should be made with the broadest terms possible consistent with your interests. This guards against the conditions of your gift becoming obsolete.

Unrestricted Gifts

An unrestricted bequest permits the charity to use the gift where the need is the greatest. This allows the charity to respond to changing needs as they arise.
