Now that I have your attention, are you willing to listen to an offer you cannot refuse? We are ready to intake our first orphans this fall. When we start our selection process this summer for our first grade class, we would like that class to consist of orphaned children (or as many as possible).

To open the orphanage, we are seeking a full time Executive Director-Haiti to oversee the operation of the orphanage and the school. As you can see in the picture, we are willing to pay cold hard cash for the right candidate. However, the person that gets this job will not be in it for the money. Executive Director - Haiti

We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and highly motivated Executive Director-Haiti. Managing a staff in Haiti, the Executive Director-Haiti will have primary responsibility for all management functions, including financial management, program development and implementation, and organizational administration. This position requires exceptional drive and passion for COHH’s mission, significant capacity for management and the ability to direct the day-to-day operations of an orphanage and school.

The role

A strong and committed leader, it’ll be up to you to develop, maintain and manage a competent in-country staff for the development and operation of the orphanage and school to achieve our mission. With relationships the cornerstone of everything we do, success will hinge as much on how alliances, partnerships and networks are managed and developed, as the operational field-based work involved. So drawing on your outstanding relationship skills, you’ll represent COHH to a diverse range of stakeholders including U.S. based businesses, volunteers, government officials, donor agencies and other NGOs.

What we’re looking for

This is a very high profile role in an economically fragile society. Which is why we’re looking for an inspirational leader with extensive experience in both a humanitarian and development context. Specific experience of working in Haiti would obviously be an advantage. But whether or not you’ve worked there before, you’ll need a good understanding of the country’s cultural, social and political make up, as well as the ability to speak English, Creole and French. This is a complex role, which calls for a real strategic thinker. Someone who can always see the bigger picture.
